In July 2008, SE Works joined with the Oregon Employment Department and Worksystems, Inc. to expand services in southeast Portland and become WorkSource Portland Southeast. We offer a full range of employment resources for job seekers and employers. Job seekers can search for employment and create resumes and cover letters in our computer lab. They may also work with an employment specialist to review their employment history, skills, and experience, and to develop a customized job search plan. We offer a variety of products designed to assist job seekers to find employment and increase basic skills so they are competitive for jobs. We also have limited funding to assist individuals interested in pursuing occupational skills training in targeted high-demand careers. Finally, employment specialists can match job seekers with job openings through the Oregon Employment Department's i-Match system. To get started, visit WorkSource Portland Southeast to participate in a skills review and meet with an employment specialist to design your plan. No appointment is necessary; you must arrive between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. Staff members bilingual in Spanish, Russian, and Portuguese are available to assist non-native English speakers. We also have specific expertise providing job search assistance to individuals with criminal histories. For persons experiencing disabilities, we provide a range of Assistive Technology to facilitate the job search process. WorkSource Portland Southeast is home to a number of on-site partners and has other programs designed for specific populations including persons experiencing disabilities, people with criminal histories, and youth.
